(Firstly let me say we now have an i5 3.1 8gb as our server thanks to Mr Grimnir - for all his support he may shortly be upgraded to an official staff rank) We have been warning about this for a while. Most teleport commands have now been removed, including spawn and tphere to avoid "cheating", staff teleport commands have been scaled back in power also. But not so much you can't do your job. Due to database curruption from someone doing a /tppos to the middle of the far lands this command has also been disabled. Whoever you are you know who you are. I didn't bother tracking back logs to work out who. We will also start phasing out warp signs and the warping room. (its been abandoned for months anyway) some special warp signs may be kept. (eg existing warp citadel signs) This is not as bad as you think. See why below: Recent Changes: - Back command should be now unlocked for all levels. Why punish exploring.
- All world perms have been updated and a sync forced on users file.
- You should be familiar with the home/sethome command and the mark/recall spells
- You can now use Fast Travel Signs as rally points to get to people.
- Key locations have Fast travel signs already
- /spawn is replaced with /ft citadel
- you still go to your spawn on death
- This forces players to explore the server or go on "TP runs" to get signs with other players.
- *** certain ranks can CREATE ft signs
- this stops /tpa flooding/spamming *stab stab*
- This forces players to use "nether world" shortcuts to distant locations
- the nether world is again a battle mage world... this is for PVP not griefing. Abuse of more powerful abilities particularly for grief will not be tolerated however.
- Most of you may not recall this, but standing policy is wizards are more powerful in the nether. Since we have a few magic ranks some are now SIGNIFICANTLY more powerful in the nether. Will see how it goes.
- donator ranks have a special nether only rank status.. if you see one, i suggest running the other direction, very quickly.
- Low rank players should lock important items in chests on main world before exploring nether. (magic chests might be useful here as a "bank" facility) In the nether you're pretty much cannon fodder.
- Except for warzones where you intend it to be damaged or destroyed, I don't recommend building too much in the nether..
- if there is too much abuse all spells will be cut back, and the battlemage rank will be assigned to a new planet.. that is hard to get to.
- you can cast bind on an empty hand for the ultimate death mage - who doesnt even need a wand
- Back and home command disabled in the nether, (this is for dueling), back might be re-added later but given all the lava..
- fast travel and suicide still works but using them counts as loosing duel.
- I suggest adding fast travel signs to any war zone bunkers you have so killed players can "respawn" there during pvp battles
- Feel free to build way-stations on the way to distant destinations.
- Other stuff i cant remember..
Long term I will dig out the perm that gives all fast travel points to certain staff ranks. Likewise have been TRYING to get a map of the world up to help exploration. Also may be some more work to do spells wise in the nether. Not all the main world spells are necessarily available to wizards in the nether atm.. except paid ranks who may be in for a surprise. Let me know how it goes.
