Hi guys, after i logged in to find two new players swearing and saying inappropriate sex related things, i chatted to the players, and we changed the chat plugin setup to reduce such things occuring. Many of our players dont realise some players are quite young and such talk is inappropriate and uncomfortable for them. What we have now are several age specific chatrooms for players to choose. type /cc list to see them To use one type /join channel_name_goes_here on joining a new channel you chat to that channel automatically. You can be in several channels at once - and you remain in them even if you long out until server restarts. You will also need to type /set channel_name_goes_here if you need to send chat to any other chatroom you are in. For example citizens of brotherhood can be in "Local" and join "Brotherhood" and see messages from both. You also have world and general chat, world is visable only in current planet and general is visible server wide, as are the age specific rooms. More details on the chat plugin are in the following support post: cybernexus.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=support&action=display&thread=172This setup may change in future depending how players react to it or suggestions - add suggestions below.

Ok, to smooth the transition a bit I have reconfigured the mechanics of the chat plugin as well. 1: When you join a channel now, you are automatically redirected so your chat goes there (makes using /set less critical, and you dont have to /leave on the L channel) 2: Persistence - if you join a chatroom and quit, you should still be in it when you log in again. 3: Shortcuts to faction chats - /join BH is brotherhood, /join pal is paladin
