I just posted a long message on this, but the page crashed out.
Here is the short version.
No more insults, swearing, and sexual harassment in the chat. If you must swear do it in an age appropriate chat room or stop altogether.
Brotherhood is a public chat, and legally has the same status as talking in public. Besides which it was made for the Brotherhood Kingdom for residents to chat to each other. Not for everyone to pile into and chat. Perhaps I should disable BH global chat, or password restrict it to "official" citizens of that region?
Other land areas would have gotten their own chat as they became popular.
As for all the bad language, it takes two people to fight, one to start it and another to react to it. This is just a game, treat it as such - I suggest either dont react to it, /ignore it, PVP deny flag, or post a bounty or create a god and declare war with each other.
As for bans, if we banned someone evertime two people didnt get along, i would be sitting in the server by myself, and it would be white list only.
As for yo momma jokes, its an American thing, our server is predomanatly played by Australians, and we dont get the joke. So most players will think your insulting them personally.
Legally: Most countries have anti-cyberbullying laws. Australia included. You are not as anonymous on the internet as you think. Your insult could result in police intervention. Ask the staff what they see everytime someone logs in. Its called GeoIP. I have a upgraded version I can use that tells me your internet provider, and the nearest branch office. The police version tells then the street address that is associated with YOUR internet account.
The server also has a log file, which includes the chat. This log file can be requested by law enforcement legally.
As for bans in general - the main people involved in these "cat fights" are large land owners. Just like I cant ban Julia Gillard, I cant ban the owners of these land areas for any length of time.
Especially as other than saying rubbish in the chat, they didnt do any insta-ban offences. I suggest you make it fun and start a PVP war.
Gods also has the ability to only allow members of the same faction to talk to each other, no idea how well it works, maybe try it.
As for bad language in general, consider the number of good players we lost including staff, because they are sick of all the little "brats" fighting in the chat all the time.
Also consider, that some players are young. The last thing some 10 year old kids wants to see is swearing and sex rolling up his screen, especially when he/she is showing their parents the 20 floor fortress they just spent a week building.

i would just like to point out, bh chat is actually for everyone my choice on the name was rather poor but yeah, also you should add (not sure if there is one or what ever) a command that lets you kick/ban from a chat room. it would make things a hell of alot easyer also in this train of though i would also like to point out muted players can still use /helpop to chat/beg to staff is it possible to remove this when player is muted?
