I'm going to upgrade my computer soon and it's going to be a "gaming computer" what parts should I get for it? My price limit is $600-$1000
I'm getting a Intel icore 7 processor and a Nvidia graphics card, forgot what it's called T_T if there is anything better than the processor that's cheaper post pls!

1K wont get you a high end system.
If someone wants modern gaming I'd be quoting a system like the following;
CPU I7 3820 M/B P9X97LE RAM Gskill Ripjaw 16GB DDR3 COOLER Noctua Cooler NH-D14 SE2011 BOOT HDD 128GB Vertex 450 SSD APPS HDD 2TB HDD WD BLACK OPTICAL DVDRW CASE LIAN LI PC-K9 POWER SUPPLY THERMAL TAKE 775W ToughPower XT V/C GTX650 Ti BOOST O/S Windows 7 Pro 64Bit $2100inc GST
However I have a preference for ATI Video Cards these days.

I5's are just as good as I7
My recommendation is Configuration 2 @ JPC Supplies.
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit System -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Manufacturer INTEL_ Model DH67BL__ Total amount of system memory 16.0 GB RAM System type 64-bit operating system Number of processor cores 4 LG DVD Drive Storage -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total size of hard disk(s) 931 GB Graphics -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Display adapter type NVIDIA GeForce GT 640
Case -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thermal-take
This configuration can run Minecraft at the highest texture pack resolution 512x512 with 3D turn on and all the settings on Max.
It should be able to run the Cry Engine and Crisis 3 but I haven't tested Crisis 3.
I have one of these machines and it runs awesome!
Price about $1200.
We do have a I7 configuration which is configuration 3 which is under $1000 but I cant remember the specs.

I would recommend a smaller CPU like an I5 - but get the highest clock speed you can. OR put in a slower budget cpu like i3, and put the money you save into a more powerful video card, then save up and put in the high clock speed i5 later.
Only reason i recommend the i5 is price per power ratio.
You can get a much higher clock speed, with 4 cores, at a much lower price than that same clock speed in an I7. If your budget is under $1000 then either a high clock i5, or an AMD black is the best way to get grunt on a budget.
This is especially relevant as most games even multi threading ones seldom use more than 1 to 3 cores anyway. ..and minecraft - Java will only run on 1 core, thus clock speed not cores is your aim.
As for our base i7 system, its just a build starting point, you would need to add extra ram or an OS.. if you wanted to be sneaky an old windows 7 key can be "recycled" with a 64 bit install cd.
