Hey Everyone,
So I have been thinking about making a more -simple- website so our players can read and understand the information we have on the main website.
I understand, the current website can be a little daunting for our younger players to plunder through, when all the information they really need is the rules and ranking requirements, and what each rank can do.
also spell information, and some other useful links.
Also, Skype Group may be on the cards, depending on how many people could get on there. Tell me your thoughts on this.

Teamspeak is simple to download, and you guys can customize your own Teamspeak server so that there are different groups (e.g one for staff, one for AFK, one for other games like Battlefield and COD, etc.) I know that Drew and Char have one, and it's used by most of the server. Probably the best Voicechatting system I know of. Another option is Tinychat, but the only problem about that is it's public, so ANYONE (Pedo's) could join and do inappropriate things  . A problem with Skype is that I'm pretty sure you have to pay to do group chats. Teamspeak is easier and free ^_^ -Vøx |

I agree with TS but I also suggest you make a steam group as most people have it anyway.

Skype is free. You just have to buy it if u want like 4 or more ppl showing themselfs (video) It would be Really Easy if everyone does use skype because u dont have to keep messageing and all that. You can just talk and play  chadinha |

Hence steam and/or Team Speak since both are a lot easier to use and most people already have at least one.

Teamspeak is a problem as servers are usually player ran.. we are already maxing out our bandwidth on minecraft (something like 80-200gb a month) we could hijack a room on an existing TS server somewhere tho.. but
I hate skype.. trouble is what lexy has found, and from all the n00bs saying "skype?" shows me is it is actually annoyingly quite popular.
Either way i personally dont use TS or Skype.
Skype is a resource and bandwidth bloat. Teamspeak is tidier but requires people to understand new fangled things like "ip addresses" and "host names"
Many players are pushing their skills to the limit just typing in a minecraft server address!
As for the main website, most important stuff is on the forums here now.. the idea being if players have trouble with something other players can help them out... now if only everyone would make an account!
The items lexy suggests is already all on the current page.. which is why it is so full on.. a new page will be just as full on, just laid out differently.
I do agree tho, i need to re-design the page. Probably use a sectional menu on the left like many of the other commercial/production minecraft websites. Time is my issue.
If anyone wants to have a crack at it, feel free. Otherwise post stuff on here for now.
I have a shop to run which keeps me pretty tied up. And if you look at the donator posting, i tried to give you an idea of the costs to run the server 24/7 - you can see that the server is quite costly for us. Over time once we have a stable platform the costs will eventually break even from donations. But that wont happen until I am comfortable the server and plugins are as polished as possible - and we start actively advertising the server.
As far as the lag is concerned - consider this an alpha / beta server at the moment. Once all the plugins are nailed down we have a number of high bandwidth options to consider.
I'll make a new posting on that topic later to let you know whats going on.

You should add random pritty pictures on the website to make it more awesome  . However I also hate skype. And it is true that TS can be more complicated to use it should mean that we dont have to listen to the annoying little kids that don't know anything anyway. They make me rage! |
