Ok the Inquisitor rank is a player elected rank. It is a moderation/law enforcement rank, and a position of trust. Abuse of this rank can have the rank removed without appeal! So do not abuse it!
As such the only requirement is to be:
"Nominated" by at least 2 staff members, OR 1 staff member and two "elected" rank players. (Recent staff/elected are listed below this list)
There must be at least 2 players "nominated" for a vote
A vote (on forum, or in game) is done by players and the person with the most votes gets the position assigned.
All nominees get a special "Navigation" rank called "Helper" until the vote finishes, if they are not voted in, they get to keep the rank as a reward just for being nominated.
Note: there is no PLAYER rank requirement for this, any responsible player can be nominated without concern for their rank! (although higher ranked players are more likely to be nominated as people will know them better)
"Staff" is defined as the following players: Hedt, Drewbzz, R_a_person, lexybane, xphoenixxx, samhandwich
"Elected rank" players are charizard694, Voxelle, warpig97
Foreword: People have been worried that it is not a full moderator rank - however it is not a fair comparison to make, as Inquisitor rank has several OTHER abilities that moderators don't have. The main moderator power Inquisitor doesn't have is ban/ban all/kick all for safety reasons.
What inquisitors CAN'T do: Place or break blocks on protected land claims, create overlapping region claims, break into protected doors or chests, delete other players claims, or remove protection on chests or doors, or Teleport to a staff player that disabled teleport. In other words, their ability to grief is limited.
What they CAN do:
Abilities: Inquisitor rank players have several abilities not normally allowed for players. The Raw permissions are listed at the end of this posting, but here is a command by category summary:
Communication: Inquisitor players will receive all "/helpop" commands from players requesting help.
Navigation: Main "blink" navigation commands are unlocked, these can be used by left or right clicking a compass, or using the /j and /passthrough command. The /tp (teleport no request) command is also unlocked and can be used instead of /tpa in an emergency. The /warp command is enabled, ((and they can create or break warp signs.) the /tphere command is enabled, this teleports the selected player to you. The /top command is enabled, this moves you to the highest un-blocked block above you (usually the surface)
Protection: Private signs for doors or chests can be created for OTHER players even when it locks themself out. Use with caution, 1 typo means you need an admin to fix it!
MagicSpells: Player is allowed to learn all spells. (he still has to find or be taught them however)
Monitoring/Anti-Grief: These SHOULD work. The "/lb tool" command - this gives you a pick that right clicking a block or door or sign tells you its modification history.
Punishment: the /burn player time and /tjail player jailname (optional time) commands are enabled. Tjail is also set to allow OFFLINE players to be jailed. (use with caution) the /jails command (which lists available jails)
General gameplay and social: [disposal] signs (rubbish bins) can be created /whois name/nickname allows to you see the real player username and IP address of a player /invsee player allows you to examine the contents of another players inventory. /time day/night/dawn/dusk/600 etc is available /god /ungod etc commands available Additional commands listed in /help Can create and use [heal] signs. The /nick command is totally unlocked and can be used to change their own or other players nicknames and nickname colors. The /poof command is available it makes them invisible, and unable to interact with items. Use with caution. /pr player promote and /pr player demote allows promotion and demotion of other players rank. BE SURE TO FOLLOW RANKING REQUIREMENTS OR THIS WILL BE CONSIDERED ABUSE they can only promote up to their current (non-staff) rank. Eg Soldier. The idea being they should be familiar with their own rank requirements.
