I've got a project I have been playing around with the idea of for a while. But it is a bit big to tackle alone.
Basically the aim is to attempt to recreate the world of Titan, eg, contients of Allansia, The old World, Khul, the isles of the Dawn etc etc from the World of titan Role playing system developed by Ian livingstone and Steve Jackson in the "World of titan" "Fighting Fantasy" "Sorcery!" and "Dungeoneer" series of books.
For more details skip below my disclaimer and read the notes below it.
--- Disclaimer/Statment of intent--- Keep in mind this is an "Inspired by" project and wont be an exact replica, basically because: A: there is so much fan material on top of the book series, we would never make purists happy. (but gives us a lot to work with) B: if players are donating/contributing money to help the project that may flag IP issues - unfortunately contacting Steve and Ian is not practical and I doubt any of the book publishers will want to listen. There are some stupid laws out there. C: making an exact replica would potentially cause licencing issues, not so much from the Authors, they made the series to inspire peoples imaginations and role play - but more from scummy faceless so called "game publishers" who lacking any originality themself, would copyright the word "word" if they thought they could scam a dollar out of anyone, and steal food from the original creators mouth. So basically - we use the books as inpiration or for location names; or for showcases, but basically we are building this stuff from scratch. ---End Disclaimer---
A continent has been located using a minecraft seed mapping tool "AMIDST", that roughly (based on game /compass north not actual north, so its technically upside down!) matches the shape of Allansia as depicted on most game books featuring it.
Known towns and Cities on the map will be assigned to players (as Mayors) where NPC villages can be located on the server that roughly approximate the same location on the Allansia map. This is so that NPCs automatically spawn in these areas, so try to leave original npc village material alone as much as possible.
Where possible the same building materials as the NPC villages should be used, and if maps or illustrations of the city from the book series are available these should be used as inspirations.
Particularly the City of Port Blacksand, has many detailed maps, street maps, location descriptions and pictures available as it is featured in a number of books of the series. The Mossy cobble and stronghold blocks would be particularly suited here.
I will also be locating another continent to act as "The old World" continent which is featured in Steve Jacksons "Sorcery" Series in detail including the city port "Khare"
The main spawn continent everyone is playing on, is roughly where the Khul continent is located, and Caprica and minecraft(nyan) city could be considered the outer coastal areas. However the shape is a bit wrong (particularly as this area is built off about 3 different seeds and minecraft server engines) so we will have to use a bit more imagination and landscaping there.
North of caprica is an odd glitchy forest area which if anyone feels the urge, could be based on the "Forest of Doom" book, since its kind of creepy already.
Voxille has already been assigned an NPC village in the area of "Alkemis" on the game map, he can show you around if you are curious what you may be in for.
I have also located an area to act as "port blacksand" although i have not yet began construction.
Matty and some others expressed interest, so i have to assign them some NPC villages as I find them when i have time.
Post any ideas, or requests for NPC village assignments below.

Ok guys - I have scanned most of the relevant art under the fair use clause (it is a role play book as such you are permitted limited use of the art in a creative or inspirational sense) I have started the Black Lobster Inn already incidentally. Maps/Art here: jpcsupplies.com/texpacks/titan/

Have you considered using any schematics instead of using the NPC Villages?

only reason for trying to utilize npc villages is auto villager spawning just being lazy
