Was just pondering the possibility of rigging up one of our test servers, with some beta software and plugins of things like airstrike, pvp titles, movecraft, unlocked TNT, and some sort of combat plugins to get around our movecraft problems.
Basically a worst case scenario load test where we hammer the server, and blow crap (or each other) up, fly around in battleships, or sail boats etc.
Suggested loadout: (will change with player suggestions) PvP titles - title prefix changes depending on your kills Movecraft (with bombers mode enabled) Disguises Airstrike EXPLOSIVE ARROWS (MUAHAHHA) (portalstick?) ... and some other random plugin we can use to shoot fireballs etc at each other. (magicspells conflicts with movecraft atm) possibly the cannons plugin but its a pain to rotate and aim your cannons.
Other possibilities is running a sky world generator, although that will make the server struggle somewhat.
Downside here is the main server will be offline for the duration of this event (to have more ram available, and to allow us to use the "default" minecraft port for those who dont get the whole :25564 concept)
Basically it would be a 24 hour grief/war/pvp fest of complete destruction.
Suggested gameplay would be construction of tnt resistant bunkers with some sort of anti aircraft application of one of the plugins. VS ... well aircraft bombing the bunkers!
Available ranks: Default Paladin Assassin (Admin blah blah)
This is largely dependant on getting around our movecraft permissions difficulties too.
Suggest players look up plugins listed above too.. some are .. interesting to say the least.

no because people still want to be able to build, i would say make a planet purely that or even all planets like that but have the main world normal, the server will lose many many people if no one can build

It is meant to be more or less a one off event with the main server returning afterwards.
Or if we did copy it over to grimnir's server, they could run in parallel.
I have a basic set of options already configured, just need to have a normal player test the perms

Now I can post from a real device I'll fire up the linux server this afternoon and PM you the hostname, username & password + root password. Just have to re-arrange to free up 2RU in my rack.

main problem appears to be some plugins are still ignoring the permissions system.
Short of giving all players ops i'm scratching my head here.

It's on there and running, didnt need the root account (i hope thats an su only root account, didnt try direct root login to shell) Is that a fixed ip? MovecraftMovecraft (aircraft) is working for default changed the movecraft.xml to be RequireOp = false Tested with a crude 11 wool block plane AirstrikeAirstrike seems to work ok for me as default airstrike.as gives access to all types and limiting via airstrike.as.arrow or .tnt works fine too not sure what was going on there. Will test with the other groups you have already defined Explosive Arrowsfound by looking in the sourcecode that permissions nodes are explodingarrow.use explodinglightningarrow.use defined these for default and was able to use /ea and /eal arrows do indeed explode awaiting an approved v3.0 .jar to test the fire and explosion size

Airstrikes were set in permissions to only work for paladin or assassin
but would't work for warpig when set as assassin.
Good work on movecraft, hopefully that option still honors perms.
Explosive arrows... not sure here, i may have to install it by itself on a test server with nothing but bpermissions and run /permissions helpme to have it audit the plugin for any permission nodes. (if you run that on your production server it overwrites your admin rank perms)

Id say give the paladans explode lightning arrows permissions, and then the assassins the normal explode arrows, when we get version 3 let the default have the fire arrows?
I think i already had airstrike perms set to different available ones to paladin and assassin .
Prefer there to be some difference between ways each rank can attack. Gives a better idea on who is attacking!
the explosive arrows will be used to shoot down stuff, either surface to air or air to air, (and a lot of accidental/on purpose air to ground i suspect) the airstrikes can be used to tackle people on the ground.. i may need to tweak the drop height for airstrikes, so if one is called on someone in an aircraft it misses and lands under them - should be a setting for it from memory.
What does that leave? if all that is working - we just need some plugin which either manually or automatically allows us to clean up free entities from the block drops.
Even after that little show and tell this morning, i noticed the server really started struggling once a few blocks were dropped :/
all the cores and ram in the world isnt any good if it just uses one core !
